Marketing

The marketing efforts of Lyle Industries have been directed primarily toward the middle to higher end segments of the market. Products for these markets have stringent requirements on quality and performance, also requiring better quality goods and heavier weight carpets. More importantly, companies in these segments are receptive to innovative styling and design ideas which allow both Lyle Industries and its customers to obtain a stronger market share with higher profitability by offering unique and high quality products that other companies cannot or will not offer.

There are no standard styles and constructions of carpet used universally throughout our market. Each customer has its own specific styling, design and performance requirements for individual automobiles, truck transport bodies, and industrial mats. As a result, every product Lyle manufacturers is engineered to meet those specific requirements in terms of style, color, width, backing system, and performance.

These products are normally sold to one of the major mat manufacturers, including Pretty Products, Inc., Viam Manufacturing and Racemark International. For more than ten years, Lyle has produced carpets for export to Japan and Europe.

In recent years, marketing efforts have been expanded to include carpeting for trim pieces and floor pan carpet capability. Construction approval and certifications have been obtained in Detroit and active development programs are underway on a number of innovative styling programs for cars and trucks.

Additionally, efforts to penetrate the Heavy Truck Industry (class 8 type vehicles) have resulted in significant volumes of sales to Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, and Mack.
